MEET LISA JENSEN
Interior design is all about the creative mix and Lisa’s strength is curating things from all different sources, price points, and designing a space that makes you feel happy and relaxed, because it’s YOU, your individual style, based on all the things you told Lisa matter to you.
Because Lisa uses a special intake process she has developed over 16 years in business, is a great listener, a chameleon in design, intuitive, highly resourceful, equally happy to shop To-The-Trade resources and create beautiful custom goods as she is utilizing local shops, and is passionate about her work, she’s been collaborating with some of the same clients on and off, as they need her, for over a decade!
If you’re a busy professional living North of Boston, Massachusetts, who is raising a family and doesn’t have the time, interest, or know-how to transform your home into something you’ll love, let Lisa help you finally check your room design, renovation, or decorating and styling home project off your never-ending to-do list, and get back to your weekends, your family, your career, and the things you’re good at! We’d love to hear from you! Fill out the Project Questionnaire and a member of our team will get in touch with you shortly!
A Message From Lisa:
“Growing up first in Connecticut, with views of rolling hills, amazing sunsets, the distant Hartford lights at night, surrounded by a corn field, a hay field, the woods, and on a street full of working farms, yet a stones throw from the beautiful, historical mansions around Wesleyan University, and then moving to the picturesque seaside town of Marblehead, Massachusetts into a fixer-upper small house at age 10, all instilled a love and a need for me to live by the ocean + farms + a historic downtown, which makes the Newburyport, Massachusetts area the perfect place to live and work!
During those Marblehead Middle School and High School years I would use my hard-earned money to shop at Marshall’s in Vinnin Square Swampscott for decorative vases, accent pillows, and framed prints (my Mom still has 30 years later - and they’re peach and green and coming back into style again!) My mother wasn't a fan of letting me stay home from school ‘sick’ because I would rearrange the furniture, drag old heavy rugs down from the attic, and hang wallpaper borders - she never knew what she’d be coming home to. I was definitely an unknowing designer in the making and that home was my first design laboratory!
While studying Interior Design I opened and ran my beloved home decor and furnishing shop in 2002, calling it Elixir (a cure for people’s homes), first located in Salem, Massachusetts and then by the Marlborough/Sudbury town line. After 5 years my interior design business had grown quite successful and realizing I enjoyed working in design more than in retail, and seeing where the economy was headed, I decided to close up shop in 2007 and went full time with Lisa Jensen Interior Design. I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have been non-stop busy with new and repeat clients, year after year, sometimes juggling 14 projects at a time, the past couple years needing to ask clients to wait 6 months before I had any openings to start working with them. That's not the case now as I’ve been making some changes to my design business so that I can add clients onto my schedule much sooner and complete their projects faster, too!
Today, I love spending time with my husband, my family, my friends, my cats, working in my interior design business, going to the beach, taking farm and nature walks, hearing live music at concerts (10 just this past year), stand-up paddle boarding, traveling, visiting Martha’s Vineyard (especially the Oak Bluffs campground cottages), and watching sunsets and moon rises. I don’t love social media so I barely have a presence, and also don’t know how other working designers have the time to do so much with it, but I am going to try to do more, so please bear with me. In addition to being a long-time supporter of the ASPCA and HSUS, my business has sponsored the Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society for the past 7 years.
I think you will be hard-pressed to find another interior designer who will be as hardworking, resourceful, easy-going, and thoughtful on your project, in your home, and with your money, than I will be!"
