Intake Consultation (prerequisite for Full Room Design)
Intake Consultation (prerequisite for Full Room Design)
This service is the most important first step in our design process for Full Room Designs. Check out our availability at the online booking calendar below and reserve your spot today.
Our intake consultation service gets you an on-site meeting at your home with Owner/Designer Lisa Jensen, a seasoned professional with 23-years experience desiging homes in the Boston MA area to jump start your Full Room Design project.
Ways to prepare for your one-on-one intake consultation:
Discuss the project with other decision makers to ensure your goals are aligned
Think about your goals, dreams, wish list and must-haves for your room
Find at least 3 inspiration rooms to show us spaces that convey how you’d love your room to look or feel (use Pinterest Boards or tear pages from shelter magazines)
Considering the pieces you may need for the space (dining table, dining chairs, buffet, chandelier, area rug, artwork, for example), have an idea of how much you’re comfortable investing in each item. (We do not need an overall budget, because every client has a differnt value system for types of items). We want to know what you would care to invest in a table lamp? For some it’s $950 or more, for others it’s around $500, and for some it’s in the $150 range.
What’s Included:
A focused intake consultation at the client’s home (up to 2 hour meeting, plus up to 2 hours round-trip travel to and from the job site)
One-on-one time with Lisa Jensen and her 23+ years of experience; an intern may accompany us
In-depth discussion together about the room, goals, preferences, priorities and to review inspiration images (up to 1 hour)
After intaking information, Lisa needs alone time in the space to carefully measure, photograph, and quietly brainstorm in the room (up to 1 hour)
A customized contract with flat fee for the Full Room Design service for your unique project will be furnished within a few business days
Our project schedule books up quickly, so we recommend reserving your spot now!
Lisa works locally with clients living in Greater Boston Massachusetts to Seacoast NH vicinity - anywhere from Lexington, Burlington, and Lynnfield up to Boxford, Newburyport, Portsmouth, NH and surrounding towns.

WAYS TO PREPARE FOR YOUR 2-HOUR INTAKE CONSULTATION SESSION:
Pull a minimum of 3 inspiration photos from Pinterest or shelter magazines (5-10 images would be even better) that represent your design style and we’ll review them at your meeting; what you like and dislike in each example.
We’ll be focusing on a single room, so have a good idea about your goals for the room we’re going to design
List out specific items or must-haves for the room
Think about how much you’d be comfortable investing in individual items such as rugs, lamps, tables, sofas, etc.
If you have any finish samples (flooring, cabinetry, counter tops, fabrics), make sure you have those nearby to share with us during our session.
We’re excited to use our trained eye to help you in your home! We’re looking to intake as much information as we can for the upcoming room design and want that to come out as best it can for you!
Look forward to meeting you soon!
~Lisa
NOTES:
**All intake for the Full Room Design happens at this intake consultation. As soon as we receive your signed contract and deposit for the full room design, we may start designing right away.
**One intake consultation is necessary for each room we’ll be designing
*This is not a decorative consultation so please don’t ask us for our creative ideas, or to look at other spaces either. This is purely to intake as much information as we can for the upcoming room design and we need to focus on that space only and not get distracted.
*One (1) Intake Consultation is necessary for each room we will be designing.
*For clients who are planning to have Lisa design more than one room, two (2) “Intake” Consultations may be booked back-to-back, for the same day, in order to help clients with their scheduling and to expedite the project.
*To gain the most from your investment in the intake consultation and design project, we ask that only the homeowners are present, otherwise it becomes too distracting if a friend, relative, young child, or realtor is there with us, and Lisa needs complete focus to do her best job for you and not make mistakes.
*Our booking calendar is available online. Dates/times change swiftly, so reserve your spot asap, by purchasing this intake consultation service, and booking your appointment at the online calendar provided.
*Consultations are available in-person for clients North of Boston, Massachusetts in Essex County, Merrimack Valley, Southern NH, Southern ME, and virtually for clients located elsewhere in the USA.
*All project communication will be conducted by email or a scheduled phone call during business hours. Text messaging is not used for any communication.
*The intake consultation investment of $795 covers the intake consulation work only (our preparation work, travel time, work during the intake consultation meeting, and work developing a custom contract).
**If you need to reschedule your appointment for any reason, we require 72 hours’ notice.
**There is a no refund or transfer cancellation policy outlined below:
Thank you for your interest in Lisa Jensen Interior Design. Please note all sales for consultation services are final, and Lisa Jensen/Lisa Jensen Interior Design does not offer any refunds or money-back guarantees. You recognize and agree that you shall not be entitled to a refund for any purchase under any circumstances. You are paying for the time, intellectual property, and expertise of Lisa Jensen, not a team member, so should a team member be absent from a meeting, there is no discount or refund. Other potential clients are turned away for the time we reserve on our calendar for the service you booked, so the time slot you chose to schedule, and then cancel is lost revenue for LJ/LJID. Rescheduling the date/time you booked is permitted up to 72 hours of scheduled service start time - by a written email to Lisa@LJID.com - to notify us in writing. Cancellations or no-shows do not result in refunds. Meetings must begin promptly. We understand life happens; client is given a 15-minute grace period to join the meeting before cancellation without refund occurs; the meeting will stop promptly at the scheduled stop time regardless of actual start time. This consultation is valid for 90 days from the date of purchase and if not used within this timeframe, no refunds will be issued. Client agrees and understands that LJ/LJID is not an architectural designer and will not provide such advice on architecture, nor on feasibility, electrical, plumbing, contracting, or budgeting. LJ/LJID is not responsible for the aesthetic, functional, safety, or subjective outcome of the finished space. The client is responsible for researching product selections made by LJ/LJID for aesthetic, sizing, quality, colors, style, materials, components and details; the client accepts full responsibility for final purchases they choose to make and understands they are entering a contract with the merchandise retailer, their supplier and delivery agents, not with Lisa Jensen/Lisa Jensen Interior Design.
